VA secretary states that cancer claims will be expedited for VA healthcare.
For National Cancer Awareness Day, the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) announced they will prioritize PACT Act benefits for those with cancer. The Promise to Address Comprehensive Toxics (PACT) Act improves access to healthcare for veterans exposed to toxic substances in the line of duty, and more than 10 percent of all PACT Act claims filed since the Act was signed have been for cancers linked to toxic exposure.
“We are working hard to get benefits to all Veterans who qualify under the PACT Act as soon as possible, and Veterans living with cancer are at particular risk,” said VA Secretary Denis McDonough. “Expediting claims for these Vets will ensure that they get the care and benefits they need and so rightly deserve.”
